Workforce Training

Skilled workers to meet the demands of business today and tomorrow. In manufacturing and distribution. Engineering and information technology. Ranching and equine industries, too. If you want a motivated, talented labor pool, Weatherford works.

TRUE TEXAS BUSINESS

Weatherford closely matches the demographics of Texas. That means you can find skilled talent to meet the needs of your business here. In 2016, more people moved to Texas than any other state. That’s one reason why Forbes recently named Texas ”the best state in the country for talent attraction.” Locally, new growth is fueling job opportunities and attracting millennial and young families, the ideal demographics for our growing community. Weatherford is growing toward the future. You can feel the energy. You can see the potential. We invite you to become part of it.

The Skills Development Fund is the state's premier job-training program. It provides local, customized training designed to increase skill levels and wages in the Texas workforce. It’s a proven, positive collaboration of business, local government, technical colleges, Workforce Development Boards, and regional economic development partners.

Small businesses, with fewer than 100 employees, can also take advantage of the Skills for Small Business program offered through the Texas Workforce Commission.  Eligible businesses may receive a grant for employees to attend training seminars locally.  It's time-efficient, cost-efficient, and enhances your small business' productivity.
