  • In 2015, the community successfully passed three propositions totaling $74.9 million to improve safety and security, provide facility updates, and increase student capacity at the middle school campuses.
  • Strong high school fine arts program that includes the award-winning Blue Belles drill team, choir, theatre arts, and band. Students in the Fightin' Roo Band played at Carnegie Hall in March 2017.
  • Early College Academy allows high school students the opportunity to earn their diploma and Associate's degree during their high school years.
  • Multiple opportunities for students to earn college credit through the Dual Credit program associated with Weatherford College and also through Advanced Placement classes.
  • The Career and Technology program at the high school offers 21 courses with State certifications or licensures.

Founded in 1869 (just 13 years after our picturesque county courthouse opened its doors), Weatherford College offers technical programs for business at the oldest continuously operating college west of the Mississippi River. It provides local, customized training designed to increase skill levels and wages in the Weatherford workforce.

  • The college benefits from the Texas Skills Development Fund and the Skills for Small Business Fund.
  • Weatherford College's Corporate College program launced in May 2019. Through a partnership with Growth Development Associates, Corporate College will increase the training opportunities available in Weatherford through customized solutions based on local business needs
  • The Workforce and Continuing Education Department provides curriculums for on line and on-site job training. Programs are designed to meet all career clusters for both hard and soft skills.
